For the Love - Joshua Tree

Where do I even begin? When I started teaching For the Love, I wanted to help inspire other artists to find their voices and be them. Not try to be anything but them. We are best at being ourselves after all!

This last retreat was something else. I was newly pregnant, scared to be vulnerable after my year, and so unsure of who I was. I watched on the Grammy's this weekend and Adele said in her acceptance speech, that she lost herself through being pregnant and becoming a mother, and as silly as it sounds, I felt like I lost a piece of myself in this short amount of time. As the retreat went on and began, it was as if, I was finding a piece of my soul that was lost as well.

For the Love is for someone who wants to grow. Who wants to see change. Whether that be in your business practices, shooting, or editing, it's about wanting to push pass the limits that sometimes hold us down.

I love what I do, I love what I have been able to do for over 4 years now. It brings me light, it gives me life.

I can't wait for our April retreat and would love to have you join us. I hope you enjoy this video below made by the wonderful Copper Creative, showing what our weekends are about. If you'd like more information about joining us please email me at

A huge thank you to my team of amazing women who have worked alongside me since this began. Jade Larsen, who worked as my former assistant, recently left us to pursue other opportunities and I can't thank you enough for the dedication you showed me and showed our retreat, as well as letting us all photograph your beautiful face! Jess Kasteler with Blush Creative, you truly have been my rock through so much of this. Whether it was creating last minute supplies, helping me set up, or just plan, you have been such an instrumental piece of this puzzle. Jill and Tatum, the work you do is untouchable. From getting me ready, to getting our models ready, you bring the vision and beauty I have in my mind to life. I will forever brag about what amazing teammates I have to create such beautiful work. Ashley, thank you for always bringing such amazing visuals to the group. You truly have such a gift in styling and we are so glad we have such amazing pieces to photograph that are of course paired perfectly. Rachel, oh rachel. Our wonderful sunshine and rainbows. You are the light of our group and we love you. You make the most beautiful masterpieces and we could not be more impressed every single time with the beauty you bring to our group. Courtney, thank you for being my right hand this last retreat. I felt so lucky to have you and know that if I felt ill or needed a minute you'd be right there by my side. From an attendee to a best friend, I have love watching your gift grow and love of photography. Bri and Chloe, we are so happy to have you guys with us now. You both are so fun and so incredible in all you do. I feel like I always saw you working and never stopping. Hailey + Cash | A Cape Cod Wedding

Cash and Hailey, two of the sweetest, kindest people I have truly ever met. There is nothing I love more then seeing the immediate love beam from a brides face and Hailey definitely had that.

Shooting in Cape cod meant so much to me as well, being back where my mom grew up and getting to be by the ocean. With a small romantic ceremony and reception it left plenty of time for the two of them to enjoy their day and take it all in.

I asked Hailey to share a little bit of her story with us below! Enjoy!

Cash and I met in Thailand on a study abroad in 2009. We were friends first but when we got home after our trip in Thailand we went on a date and it started from there. We have been together for 6 years before he proposed. So it wasn't a shocker when he proposed, I figured it would happen sooner than later. He proposed to me up in Park City at the St. Regis the day after my birthday with a book he had made by a professional illustrator. It was a children's book of our entire relationship from start to finish. The last page was of him proposing and when I looked at him he was down on one knee :)

As for the theme of the wedding I wanted the characteristics of a Bohemian/Nautical/Secret Garden/Romantic wedding look. We got married in the back yard of our neighbors house which was right by the water. So we figured the less decorations the better because the back drop was beautiful enough. Same for the reception. It was right on the ocean which was beautiful.

The favorite part of my day was the ceremony. I made sure to remind myself of the feelings and emotions I was feeling as I said my vows to him. I have never felt so happy, emotional, and loved in my life.

Bailey Bridals

When I started photography I didn't know where it would take me. I thought maybe I'd make a little bit of extra money and yet here I am with a full time career in it. Saying I am grateful is an understatement. I believe  that this life will always be full of surprises it's more about what one you uncover and at what time in life. Right now I am uncovering some stuff I never thought i'd have to deal with. I am scared but I will be sharing a little bit of a personal side of me in the next few days. I am not sure how it will go, but I sure hope I can be of help to someone out there.

For now, enjoy this beautiful bridal session. I love these two and am so grateful I have been able to be a part of their story.

Sarah & Joe | Bridals

Sarah and Joe were basically my favorite people on earth. We had such a good time together and I mostly love watching them grow together!

Sarah's dress is by Leanne Marshall one of my top favorite designers and she rocked that dress!

Hair and makeup by Katie Livingston

Alexis + Jeff

Alexis is my cousin by marriage and this past year has become so much more to me than just that. Jeff and Alexis have been together for about 2 years and when they decided to get married I could not have been more excited. Not only was Jeff joining the family but we also got to be a part of their day (my sweet husband officiated the wedding, more to come on that).

I was so happy when Alexis asked me to photograph her wedding, engagements and bridals. I will post their amazing engagements soon but for now I was so excited to show you their beautiful bridals that we shot at the Little Sahara Sand Dunes. We drove a few hours and once we got their they did their first look which could not have been more perfect. Jeff always has the sweetest reactions with Alexis and just is so happy and excited to see her. I mean Alexis was beyond beautiful but together they were beyond perfect.

I hope you love these bridals and have an amazing week! We still have a few spots open for our December retreat, email me at for more details!

Erik & Eva Bridals | Big Cottonwood Canyon

So yesterday these two graced the blog with their beautiful wedding at Cactus and Tropicals. If you missed it, it's  We did their bridals after their wedding, which I think is so fun if you want the first time he sees you in your dress be when you walk down the aisle!

We drove up to one of my favorite spots in Big Cottonwood (before ALL of the snow showed up). Eva had her hair and makeup done by Jill,  and I loved how the makeup brought out Eva's natural beauty! Rachel did her bouquet, and the rich reds and succulents were perfect for the autumn mountain colors.

We have only TWO spots left for the fall For the Love retreat next August. Make sure to click here or email me at if you want more info!

Britany and Kevin | Big Cottonwood Bridals

I was so excited when Britany emailed me and wanted me to photograph her formals. Her and Kevin drove from Las Vegas for to add a little Utah mountain magic to their after wedding session. This was my first shoot this year in the snow, which was fun to bring to this desert couple.

The early morning  light peaking through the pines mixed with the pines gave us the prettiest backdrop!
